South Island

New Zealand’s South Island hosts the purest natural landscapes you’ll ever experience. From wildlife to wineries, from glacial valleys to star-filled skies, nature's best flourishes against a palette of dramatic scenes. Here, towering alps meet peaceful sounds and rugged coastlines merge with sweeping plains.

In the north lies gorgeous beaches and wilderness trails in the Able Tasman National Park and the wine region of Marlborough.

Head down the East Coast and see whales and dolphins at Kaikoura and beautiful coastlines. Discover more of Canterbury in Christchurch, a charming city and base to coasts, country and alps. Arthurs Pass National Park is just a day trip away from Christchurch but has some of the most spectacular scenery. Further south on the east coast discover the Otago, with native wildlife and wilderness.

At the southern tip explore an abundance of wildlife and wilderness at Stewart Island, the furthest point south in New Zealand.

The West Coast of the South Island is a raw, uncommercial glorious coastline of wilderness, wildlife and glaciers. The sea level glaciers make for an easy access and an amazing experience.

The Fiordlands of Milford and Doubtful Sounds are perhaps the highlight of the South Island, and are easily accessible from the adventure hub of city of Queenstown
